WEDDINGS & ELOPEMENTS

Weddings are one of the rare occasions that brings together family and friends in celebration. I love all the energy that fills the air
and unfolding the layers of stories not only between the couple, but between them and their family and friends as well.
It is such an incredible privilege to be invited to share and be part of such an intimate moment.
My clients will remember their wedding day through my lens, my perspective.

KIND WORDS

Gabriele, was the charismatic photographer for our destination wedding, and we put all of our hope and faith in him to capture “the moment” at our small and intimate wedding. Instead, he captured enough moments to make a storybook telling our love story through his artistic eye. Gabriele truly care for their clients in a way that is unique and rare to find.

The passion and intensity for perfection and quality can be seen in every photo. Gabriele gave wonderful direction to us, as we did not know how to pose naturally, but our photos look so beautiful and effortless just the same. Not to mention how much fun we actually had taking the pictures with Gabriele. We received the perfect photos that will remain close to our family and us forever and cannot thank you enough.

general questions
before the wedding

after the wedding day
01. CAN WE CHAT?

I'm an Italian wedding photographer in Tuscany based Florence so if you come near to me for site inspection I'll more than happy to meet you in person. If not, I usually do a video chat on SKYPE.

02. WILL YOU ALSO SHOOT DETAILS AND FAMILY PORTRAITS?

Yes. I love making creative detail shots, and I know how important group photos of family are too.

03. CAN WE SEE A FULL WEDDING?

Sure! Please drop me a message via the contact form below and I'll reply to you with a list of full galleries to watch along all other wedding information.

04. WHAT IF YOU GET SICK AND CAN'T MAKE IT?

Although this has never happened to me in 6 years of wedding photography, I understand that illness and accidents can happen at inopportune moments. This is the most important reason why as a professional destination wedding photographer I decided to join the photography collective studio "Studio Bonon Photography" in 2011. After all these years we’ve grown organically into a team made by six professional photographers in Tuscany, me included, and operates in the sector since 1970. If me or one of our operators is sick or unavailable, I guarantee the presence of another associated professional photographer from the Studio Bonon Photography.

01. WHAT IS REQUIRED TO BOOK OUR WEDDING DATE?

Once you're ready to book your photography, I'll need a 30% deposit and signed agreement to reserve your date. Once that's done, your date is officially booked, and I'll start making my travel and coverage plans. The balance payment will be due the day of the wedding or alternatively prior final delivery of digital files (typically within 90 days).

02. HOW CAN WE PAY?

I accept bank transfer, Transferwise or Paypal. Couples cover the transaction fees.

03. THEN WHAT HAPPENS?

Once you've booked your photography, I'm available to you anytime to help answer questions you may have about the rest of your wedding planning. Moreover since every clients are unique I made an online wedding prep questionnaire which every customers can easily fill. The purpose of this online form is to gather information about the day, the major players, list of family formal group shots, and the intricacies of the event itself to better organise your photo service.

01. WHEN DO YOU START?

Usually two hours before you get dress to cover getting ready photos.

02. WILL YOU SHOOT DETAILS?

Absolutely. This is one of the first things I'll concentrate on when I arrive - dress, rings, shoes, invitations and any special details you want documented. I like to get these done first, so that I can then concentrate on documenting the human emotions and connections for the rest of the day.

03. WILL YOU PHOTOGRAPH THE GUYS GETTING READY?

If you've booked a two photographers photo service of course yes. If I'm shooting on my own, and you're all getting ready in the same villa or hotel, I'll try to do my best to cover booth of you.

04. WHAT HAPPENS RIGHT AFTER THE CEREMONY?

Usually we'll want to do the family formal portraits right after the ceremony, before anyone has the chance to wander off to the bathroom or the bar. You should nominate someone in your wedding party to be in charge of the group shotlist, getting people ready etc.

05. WHEN ARE WE GOING TO DO PORTRAITS?

Usually once we do the family formals, I'll take the bride and groom off somewhere nearby but hopefully out of the way from the reception area where guests are enjoying cocktails. Depending on the schedule, your needs and/or desires I adapt my approach so we'll have anywhere between 30-60 minutes for portraits. If possible we may add some little extra time during the golden hour (period shortly before sunset) to take shots in the best light. We can include your wedding party for part of it, but I do prefer to spend more time making portraits with just the bride and groom at this time.

06. WHAT YOU SHOOT AT RECEPTION AND DINNER?

Once we finish portraits we'll head back to your reception, and you'll often have a few moments to yourselves to freshen up, relax and enjoy the cocktail with your guests before the evening begins. During this time I'll shoot people, some details of the dinner and reception setup. At dinner I will be focus on speeches and whatever else happens over the course of the meal. Then we usually move on to the cake cutting and first dance.

07. WHEN YOU LEAVE?

Typically my wedding photo service is scheduled to end after 30 minutes of dancing for a total of continuous time coverage of 8 or 9 hours but if need and desire you may extend the time coverage.

01. HOW MANY PICTURES DO WE GET?

The number of photographs taken depends on many things like the number of guests, hours of coverage, types of events. My bare minimum is 600 images for an eight hour day. You will receive high resolution image files via a password protected online gallery from which are then available for download and printing.

02. DO YOU SHOOT WITH A SECOND SHOOTER?

For full day coverage I work always with a second shooter which help me make a more complete and better work. We typically split up and cover both the bride and the groom before the ceremony, making it possible to tell full story of your day.

03. WHO EDITS THE IMAGES? ALL OF THEM? HOW?

I strongly believe that editing is a fundamental part my photography process, and therefore I need to personally hand edit every single image delivered without batching in bulk groups or mass producing the results to ensure they hold up to my vision and style.

04. HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET OUR PRODUCTS AND IMAGES?

Your images will be ready 8-12 weeks after the wedding, available for download on your password-protected online gallery. You will be able to download both high and low resolution files, and be able to order professional prints directly from the gallery. At the same time, I will write a blog post on my website featuring my personal favourites, and upload a curated gallery on my social professional pages so your family and friends can enjoy them as well. Upon final approval of album designs most albums are ready for delivery within four weeks.

05. DO YOU MAKE BLACK AND WHITE IMAGES?

I basically deliver two major photo galleries. The first with all the photo in color version and the second one with the same images of the first gallery edited in black and white version.

06. WHAT ARE YOUR ALBUMS LIKE?

I use only WEDDING BOOK™ and YOUNG BOOK™ album products from GRAPHISTUDIO™. They offer a variety of custom options and high end materials, and every product they make is completely handmade in Italy. There's a lot of attention to detail that goes into designing and building a wedding album.

07. HOW DO WE MAKE A BOOK/ALBUM?

Once you're ready to get started you can simply create a "favourites" collection from your online gallery, and I'll use these images to start the preliminary design. Then I show you the draft, and you give me your thoughts, and we go back and forth until you are happy and ready to go to print. The whole process usually takes about a 3 months from start to finish. When the products will arrive at my studio from the GRAPHISTUDIO™ lab I'll double check if everything is ok and I'll ship the book out to you.
