Cara and Vincent’s surprise proposal and photoshoot
Unlike most of the couples I met as a proposal photographer, Cara and Vincent didn’t come to Florence on holiday: they came for work. Their company organized a big meeting at Four Seasons Hotel, and this American man thought that would be the perfect occasion to ask the big question to his girlfriend.
He had been carefully planning that moment for six months and he couldn’t wait for the surprise proposal photoshoot – which would be the sign that everything went according to plans. The chosen location was San Miniato al Monte and the official excuse to bring Cara there was an early-morning corporate shooting.
She didn’t suspect anything: she wore a stunning electric blue dress and she shed tears of joy when Vincent kneeled in front of her. I was hiding in a strategic position that allowed me to capture the touching surprise proposal and, after that, I came out for an engagement shooting with an incredible background.
Four Seasons Florence, a unique location
Cara and Vincent’s surprise proposal photoshoot didn’t end there, though: the second part of it took place in the amazing Four Seasons Florence. Being one of the most luxurious accommodations in the city, this hotel is a perfectly restored Renaissance gem.
We had the chance to use the foyer, Convent Ballroom and the lobby of Gherardesca Palace as settings: their beautiful architecture and historic frescoes added unique value to the pictures. Not to mention the immense, wonderful Gherardesca Garden with its little Ionic temple: no setting could be more romantic than that!
Unfortunately, the rain interrupted this elegant and emotional surprise proposal photoshoot, but luckily we had enough time to create some never-ending visual memories of it that Cara and Vincent will cherish forever.
