Christina and Christopher’s pre-wedding images at sunrise
Christina and Christopher are two lovely American fiancés, with a passion for Florence – where they came on holiday in the summer. On that occasion, they looked for an engagement photographer who could shoot some precious pre-wedding images of them… and that’s how I came into the picture.
Together, we opted for sunrise engagement photos to celebrate both the strength of their bond and the magic of an empty Florence. Strolling around the streets of the city at that time of the day feels almost surreal: even in the busiest months, there are no tourists around and you can feel like the town is your stage. Add to this the incredible light that shines at that time of the day – a mix of gold and powder pink – making everything glow, and the spell is complete.

Hiring a local photographer for your pre-wedding images gives you the big advantage of dealing with someone who knows his city by heart – and thus can shoot your sunrise engagement photos in all the most iconic spots of it.
Christina and Christopher’s walk and shooting in the center of Florence started from Piazza della Signoria, with its majestic buildings and statues. Then we moved to Ponte Vecchio, a must-see destination and photo setting: the couple’s outfits, especially Christina’s dress, matched perfectly with the surrounding colors and the outcome couldn’t look prettier. We then shot some pre-wedding images using the amazing architecture and sculptures of Florence as a background, before moving to Piazzale Michelangelo and San Miniato al Monte for the last part of the session.
Imagine how it would feel to have the whole city at your feet, and to look at that breathtaking view while holding your loved one in your arms. Christina and Christopher were so happy that they started dancing as if the terrace truly was their stage and Florence – with its Duomo and red roofs – a scenery illuminated by the best light ever.
