“Proposing to your girlfriend is a once-in-a-lifetime event”, Brady said when he contacted me. On such an occasion, everything needs to be perfect – and it’s even better if the moment is cherished with a full service of surprise engagement photos and video. Get inspired by this couple’s love!
Brady’s request for surprise engagement photos and video
Brady, a young man from California, was looking for a photographer for his proposal in Florence. He wanted to surprise his girlfriend Susy kneeling in front of the best view of the city and of its Cathedral, for a guaranteed wow-factor.
He didn’t wish only for surprise engagement photos, but for a complete service that included also a short film of it. That’s the hardest part when it comes to unexpected proposals. The photographer and videographer need to coordinate with the guy, and he has to be very good at keeping the secret until the very last minute.
In this case, Brady left Susy alone at San Miniato al Monte for a few minutes to “have a quick stop at a bar nearby” – that was the official excuse with her. What actually happened was that we hid the microphone in his jacket, in order to record the audio of the proposal for the video. Everything was carefully planned and went smoothly: Brady went back to the terrace…
A special day to cherish forever
…and he suddenly kneeled in front of the astonished Susy, who was moved to tears and then couldn’t stop smiling, overjoyed.
After the proposal itself, it was time for the surprise engagement photos: we started where we were, overlooking the beautiful Florence, for one hour of photo and video shooting. Then we moved to the heart of the city to continue the session in the locations desired by the couple, including the Uffizi Gallery, Ponte Vecchio, and Palazzo Vecchio. We took the last engagement photos after sunset: an extremely romantic conclusion of a special day.
This session with Brady and Susy was a pleasure: they are extremely fun and they were very spontaneous in front of the camera, so we took some truly nice shots that will allow them to cherish this event forever.
