Madelynn and John, a beautiful American couple, came to Tuscany on a special holiday. The trip wasn’t just a vacation: it was the opportunity for them to visit a few venues and vendors for their destination wedding – which will take place in May 2022.
While here, they thought it would be nice to celebrate the moment with a shooting, and they contacted me as their engagement photographer in Florence. I’ve been living and working here since forever, and I’m always extremely happy when I meet couples that are so in love with one another – and with my charming city too.
They were looking for something truly magical, so we opted for a sunrise engagement photo shoot. That’s the absolute best way to enjoy Florence: you have it all to yourself, with no tourists around, and the light is usually idyllic. We were very lucky because, despite being September, the temperature was pleasant and the light – as expected – perfect for evocative and dreamy sunrise engagement photos.
A romantic engagement around the streets of Florence
Madelynn and John’s session started in the heart of town, near Palazzo Vecchio and the iconic Loggia dei Lanzi. Then we passed by the elegant Uffizi Gallery, where we took quite a few sunrise engagement photos with the picturesque statues in the background, and got to Ponte Vecchio, the world-famous ancient bridge over the Arno river.
Our tourist-free stroll went then to Piazza San Firenze and Palazzo Gondi, with their distinctive and amazing historic gates. The smiles and love gestures of this gorgeous couple matched so well with the setting! And finally, we got to the highlight of the tour: San Miniato al Monte and Piazzale Michelangelo, with the phenomenal view over the whole of Florence. The most wonderful frame to an equally wonderful love story.
