Spring engagement photos at Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco, Tuscany

Nature comes back to life, new colors arise, the weather gets sunnier and temperatures warmer. Not many tourists are around and the hills are greener than ever: spring is one of the best seasons to visit Tuscany, and to celebrate love.

Sara and Zhihao’s spring engagement photos

Sara and Zhihao are a sweet and enthusiastic couple from Singapore, who came to Tuscany for a family holiday. They were staying at Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco, a luxury resort surrounded by the iconic rolling hills of Val d’Orcia, and they decided to seize the moment shooting spring engagement photos. 

The weather in March can be tricky, and in fact we weren’t so lucky that day. A chilly wind caressed the whole valley, and the sky was cloudy. This wasn’t a big problem – it actually made the light even better and the prewedding photoshoot way dreamier. Despite the not-so-comfortable temperature, though, Sara and Zhihao wanted to go through with the plan. And they did pretty well: they followed my lead and everything went as smooth as it could go.

Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco, the perfect setting 

Tucked among the hills of Val d’Orcia, Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco is an estate that offers a peaceful and private atmosphere, not to mention the several different – and equally amazing – backgrounds for a prewedding photoshoot like ours.

We took the first spring engagement photos indoors, as an ice-breaker and warm-up. To be honest, Sara and Zhihao were so smiling and nice that it wasn’t difficult to get in tune with them!

Later, the session continued in the picturesque garden, where I suggested them to run, hug and move around a bit – it was a good idea both to defeat the cold temperatures and to have fun, as you can see from the gallery. 

Another great photographic setting was the infinity pool, which offers a breathtaking view of the countryside: we couldn’t help but shoot a few romantic pictures there.
