The setting where you choose to get married can make a true difference in the outcome of the event. Lina and Piotr, well aware of this, opted for a one-of-a-kind location and enjoyed their intimate San Galgano wedding. Get inspired by the beauty of this celebration and the uniqueness of the venue!

Lina and Piotr’s unforgettable San Galgano wedding

This lovely couple didn’t care about having a big party: they preferred the idea of surrounding themselves with their closest friends and family member, for a cozy and emotional celebration.

I followed them from the preparation, which took place at Tenuta di Papena – a delightful estate in the countryside of Siena, very close to the Hermitage of Montesiepi and perfect for those who are planning a San Galgano wedding.

It was a sunny September day, and the atmosphere was filled with joy and love. When we got to the Abbey of San Galgano for the wedding ceremony, everyone was left speechless. The reason is simple: this church, built in the 13th Century and belonging to a former Cistercian Monastery, is now completely roofless. Its gothic structure – arches and rose windows included – is intact, but the sky is its only roof.

Linda and Piotr’s civil ceremony was held there, and it was truly unforgettable thanks to the emotions it aroused, and to the astounding frame that embraced it.

A one-of-a-kind celebration near Siena, Tuscany

Given the beauty of the setting, we took advantage of this San Galgano wedding and shot many couple portraits inside and outside the building. One of the perks of this place is that it offers several incredible glimpses and different perspectives, so we could truly play with the views and get numerous romantic photographs.

But the event didn’t end there: towards the end of the afternoon we went back to Tenuta di Papena for the reception and, before that, we caught the chance to take some dreamy photos of the newlyweds in the golden hour.

The table setting was simple but extremely elegant, and the fairytale lights gave a final, magical touch. The celebration ended with the bride changing clothes and having fun with her husband and their loved ones. Such a great end for this special San Galgano wedding!
