Photo shooting at sunrise to honor a honeymoon in Florence
What happens when plans change against your will? You adjust to them and celebrate what you have, with a shooting at sunrise in Florence. That’s what Toni and Brian did, during their honeymoon in the romantic Italian city. And I was there to witness their love with my camera.
Toni and Brian’s shooting at sunrise: a change of plans
When this splendid couple from California contacted – and chose – me, they were not looking for a shooting at sunrise, but for a photographer for their wedding in Florence. Everything was planned already: they were going to get married in May 2020, with an intimate event on the rooftop of Grand Hotel Cavour, in the heart of the city.
But, as we all know, the pandemic hit and changed the plans of many of us, betrothed included. Toni and Brian were forced to drop their dream of a destination wedding in Italy, and got married in California instead. But they didn’t give up on the idea of bringing their love overseas, and decided to spend their honeymoon in Florence.
They wanted to properly celebrate that special trip so, by mutual agreement, we decided to turn their wedding session into a honeymoon photo shooting at sunrise instead.
Celebrating a honeymoon with a photoshoot
Why did we opt for a shooting at sunrise? Because I think that’s the best time of the day to truly enjoy Florence. The tourists are still asleep, the streets are empty and quiet, and you can have all the most iconic spots to yourself.
Toni and Brian’s sunrise photoshoot started in Piazza della Signoria, close to Loggia dei Lanzi and Palazzo Vecchio, then we moved to the Uffizi Gallery and the Arno river, with its picturesque Ponte Vecchio. The photos we took are elegant and delicate, with a colorful touch provided by Toni’s beautiful dress.
While strolling the streets of Florence, we had a special stop at Grand Hotel Cavour, where we took a few interesting souvenir photos to underline how much that place means to them. After that, we went to the astounding Piazza Santa Croce and, last but not least, to the panoramic viewpoint of San Miniato al Monte. The soft and warm light caressed the newlyweds and the city too, for a magnificent photographic result.
There’s no better way to celebrate – and remember! – a honeymoon in Florence than a photo shooting at sunrise. Get in touch with me, and let’s plan yours.
