Fourteen Guests, One Love: A Villa Corsini Wedding in Tuscany
Fourteen guests, the Tuscan countryside, and a celebration years in the making. Kathryn and Kevin’s intimate wedding at Villa Corsini a Mezzomonte brought their closest family and friends together near Florence for a day filled with personal moments, beautiful surroundings, and a few surprises.
As their wedding photographer at Villa Corsini, my approach was to give equal attention to the people and the setting: the anticipation before their first look, the reactions during the speeches, and the gardens and frescoed rooms that framed their celebration.
From a Shared History to a Destination Wedding in Tuscany
Kathryn and Kevin have been together since 2010, before their college years, and became engaged in 2019. They had always imagined a small destination wedding, with time to enjoy the company of the people closest to them.
A trip to Italy in 2019 gave them the opportunity to explore wedding venues. When the pandemic interrupted their plans, they decided to wait until they could move forward with the celebration they wanted.
Their family and close friends gathered at Villa Corsini, with all fourteen guests travelling from the United States to celebrate alongside them. The wedding brought a small circle of familiar faces together in the beautiful surroundings of the Tuscan countryside.

A First Look and Garden Ceremony at Villa Corsini
Before the ceremony, Kathryn and Kevin shared a first look in the villa’s gardens. With stone statues beside them and the countryside stretching into the distance, they had a moment together before joining their guests.
Kathryn wore an off-the-shoulder gown, carrying a bouquet in shades of purple, pink, and white. Kevin’s deep green tuxedo complemented the garden setting.
Their ceremony took place in the Southern Italian Garden, where two floral arrangements framed the space between the statues. A few rows of chairs kept everyone close, while the open view across the hills gave the ceremony a sense of space.
The photographs follow both perspectives: wide views of the garden and the smaller gestures unfolding within it, from joined hands to the smiles as the couple walked back down the aisle.

Wedding Photography That Includes the Landscape
Before the wedding, Kathryn and Kevin described what mattered to them about their photographs. They wanted natural moments captured with an artistic eye, alongside portraits that included the beauty of their surroundings.
That preference shaped their wedding photography at Villa Corsini. The garden portraits leave room for the landscape, while photographs inside the villa place the couple among the frescoes, tall windows, and architectural details.
Alongside these portraits, the documentary photographs follow the connections between people: laughter among friends, family gathered around the couple, and reactions that could never be arranged in advance.

An Intimate Reception in the Frescoed Gallery
Inside the Gallery, one long table brought everyone together for dinner. Candlelight, suspended chandeliers, and small floral arrangements accompanied the richly decorated walls and ceiling.
The scale of the room gave the reception a striking setting, while the shared table kept the gathering personal. Speeches from Kathryn’s sister and Kevin’s best friend became moments of laughter, affectionate reactions, and raised glasses.
These exchanges are an essential part of the photographic story, preserving the people who made the journey alongside the details of the celebration.

Cake, Fireworks, and a Surprise After Dark
The evening continued outside with the cake cutting and a surprise Kathryn and Kevin had planned for their guests: fireworks over the gardens.
The photographs shift from the warm interiors of the Gallery to bright trails against the night sky, closing the story with the couple together beneath the fireworks.
