Castello del Nero Proposal & Florence Engagement Photos

There is something truly special about celebrating love in Tuscany. Surrounded by rolling hills, vineyards and historic estates, the Tuscan countryside offers one of the most romantic settings in the world for a proposal.

Elly and Alan traveled from Shanghai to Italy to experience the beauty of Tuscany. What began as a romantic trip soon turned into something even more meaningful — a carefully planned surprise proposal at Castello del Nero, one of the most elegant and iconic luxury resorts in the Chianti countryside.

Hidden among vineyards and olive groves, Castello del Nero offers breathtaking views over the Tuscan hills and an atmosphere of quiet elegance that makes it a perfect setting for a romantic moment like this.

Their story unfolded between the peaceful countryside surrounding the castle and the breathtaking skyline of Florence, combining a romantic Tuscany proposal with a beautiful engagement photoshoot that captured the beginning of their new chapter together.

As a Tuscany proposal photographer, documenting moments like this at stunning venues such as Castello del Nero is always incredibly meaningful. Authentic emotions and timeless landscapes come together to create unforgettable memories.

A surprise proposal at Castello del Nero

Alan had carefully planned the entire proposal in advance, choosing a private and intimate location within the grounds of Castello del Nero.

A small romantic picnic had been prepared in a secluded area of the estate, overlooking the dreamy rolling hills of the Chianti countryside. Surrounded by vineyards and olive groves, the setting was peaceful and incredibly romantic.

Elly believed they were simply enjoying a quiet moment together during their stay in Tuscany. What she didn’t know was that Alan had organized something much more special.

Hidden at a distance, I was waiting discreetly nearby so I could capture the moment without interrupting the intimacy of the experience. From my hidden position I was able to photograph the scene with panoramic views of the Tuscan countryside stretching out behind them.

As their picnic came to an end, Alan stood up from the table, walked toward Elly and suddenly knelt down in front of her.

With the breathtaking landscape of Tuscany surrounding them, he asked her to marry him.

Her reaction was filled with surprise, laughter and emotion — a completely genuine moment that made the entire experience unforgettable. Capturing moments like this as a Tuscany proposal photographer is always incredibly special because every expression and every gesture is real.

Engagement photos at Castello del Nero and sunset in the vineyards

After the proposal, once the excitement and emotions settled, we began a relaxed engagement photoshoot around the beautiful grounds of Castello del Nero.

The estate offers an incredible variety of scenic locations — elegant gardens, cypress-lined paths and breathtaking views across the Chianti countryside. Walking together through the historic corners of the property, Elly and Alan enjoyed the moment naturally while celebrating their engagement.

As the afternoon slowly moved toward sunset, we decided to leave the main grounds of the castle and explore the surrounding landscape.

Just outside the estate lies a beautiful vineyard that perfectly represents the essence of the Tuscan countryside. Walking together between the rows of vines, Elly and Alan embraced the peaceful atmosphere of the Chianti hills.

The golden light of sunset wrapped the vineyard and the surrounding hills in warm tones, creating a dreamy and romantic setting. These final moments among the vines became the perfect conclusion to the first part of their engagement story — intimate, natural and deeply connected to the landscape of Tuscany.

Romantic engagement photos in Florence

Two days later we met again in Florence to continue celebrating their engagement with a second photo session overlooking the city.

The location was the breathtaking terrace of San Miniato al Monte, one of the most beautiful panoramic viewpoints in Florence. From this hilltop terrace, the entire city unfolds below, with the iconic dome of the Duomo rising above the historic skyline.

That afternoon the weather was changeable, with intermittent rain passing over the city. Instead of interrupting the session, the light rain created a soft and atmospheric mood that made Florence feel even more timeless and romantic.

Elly and Alan embraced the moment with elegance, walking together through the paths and gardens of San Miniato while holding transparent umbrellas.

The umbrellas not only protected them from the rain but also helped maintain beautiful natural light on their faces, allowing the photographs to remain bright and soft despite the cloudy sky. At the same time, they added an original and stylish element to the session.

Against the misty skyline of Florence, with the Duomo rising in the distance, the atmosphere became incredibly dreamy. The combination of gentle rain, soft light and the quiet beauty of the terrace created a unique and intimate setting for their engagement photos.

Sometimes unexpected weather conditions create the most memorable images, turning a simple moment into something truly cinematic.
