Who hasn’t dreamed of a castle wedding in Tuscany at least once in their life? For Kate and Cameron, that dream became reality on June 14th, 2025, when they celebrated their destination wedding at the iconic Castello di Celsa, nestled among the rolling hills of Siena. Traveling from USA, they chose one of the most enchanting castle wedding venues in Tuscany for an intimate, elegant and deeply emotional celebration.
As a wedding photographer in Tuscany, capturing their story in such a historic and romantic setting was a true privilege.
An intimate destination wedding in Tuscany
Kate and Cameron envisioned a refined yet effortless celebration, surrounded by their closest friends and family who had traveled together to Italy. Their wedding felt personal and intentional, designed to allow genuine connections and meaningful moments to unfold naturally.
They were particularly drawn to a documentary wedding photography style, preferring authentic emotions. This approach allowed their personalities, relationships and the atmosphere of the day to shine through every photograph.
Getting ready at Castello di Celsa
The day began inside the castle’s historic rooms, where soft Tuscan light streamed through ancient windows, creating a calm and romantic ambiance. Kate prepared in an elegant suite, serene and radiant, while Cameron enjoyed the quiet anticipation of the morning with best friends. These intimate moments—shared smiles, deep breaths and subtle gestures—set the tone for the entire day.

A romantic garden ceremony
The wedding ceremony took place in the picturesque gardens of Castello di Celsa, framed by manicured greenery and medieval stone walls. Cameron waited at the foot of the monumental staircase as Kate made her entrance, with the castle’s grand architecture providing a breathtaking backdrop.
Bathed in the warm light of a June afternoon, their vows were exchanged in an atmosphere that felt both cinematic and deeply intimate. As a destination wedding photographer in Tuscany, my focus was on capturing real emotions: tender glances, joyful tears and the shared happiness of their guests.

Portraits and an elegant sunset reception
After the ceremony, we explored the castle grounds for couple portraits, making use of hidden courtyards, ivy-covered walls and architectural details unique to this extraordinary Tuscan wedding venue. The surrounding countryside, with its rolling hills and warm tones, added a timeless and ethereal quality to the images.
As sunset approached, guests gathered to the side of the castle’s grand courtyard entrance for an imperial-style dinner. A long table, styled with understated elegance and illuminated by arched chandelier lights, created a magical atmosphere. Heartfelt speeches, laughter and emotional toasts filled the evening, followed by gorgeous fireworks as surprise for all the guest under the stars.

Two days before their wedding, Kate and Cameron hosted an intimate welcome dinner at the Michelin-starred restaurant Atto di Vito Mollica, located inside the luxurious Palazzo Portinari Salviati in the heart of Florence. The evening set the tone for their Tuscan celebration, offering guests a refined and elegant experience in a historic setting. With its opulent interiors and attentive service, the Palazzo provided the perfect backdrop for a luxury pre-wedding dinner, creating an exclusive and unforgettable evening that celebrated the couple and welcomed their loved ones to Italy in style.
